“Now, what I’m about to say is a really big deal coming from me, because I really don’t like boys. They’re too vigorous and frightening for me. So when I tell you how much I just love Martin, and how we just think the world of him, that means an awful lot. He’s such a nice boy, and so well-behaved. I never have to worry that my little girl is going to get run over or scared. And I can’t stress enough to you what this means coming from me, because I just don’t like little boys. I never have.”
-Parting words from a mother who is moving from my area to me, a mother of two little boys, who, fortunately, doesn’t make a practice of public brawling at children’s play areas
Wow. What an enlightened and intelligent comment.
I wonder what would have happened had she birthed a boy- adoption?
gender reassignment?
cross dressing serial killer?
politician???????
Let’s be glad we don’t have to find out.
Bwwwwaaaaahhhhaaaaahhaaaa. Thanks for the laugh. Yeah, what if her little girl had been a little rougher and tougher? Girls can play dirty, too. She must live in such a neat and tidy world. Well, there I go again. Judging with my Judge Jud Ge judging hat on. Repeat after me: I will not judge. I will not judge. Sometimes it’s just so hard . . .
i hope that when her daughter gets older, she goes punk and gets pierced and rolls around in mud, just to teach her what real girls can be.
Funny post! I wrote one about the opposite situation. (It’s called “Girl World.” http://caffeinecourt.blogspot.com/2007/09/girl-world.html)
I have two girls and I’ve had people tell me that they just “don’t like girls.” Strange.
yikes! way to teach her daughter about acceptance and tolerance. geesh.
